About BHRT for Men
Testosterone is the main sex hormone in males. As men age, their total testosterone levels decrease by about 1.6 percent each year. (1) With this decrease, sex drive and energy levels can decline. This can also cause bouts of erectile dysfunction and mood and energy problems. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy involves reintroducing essential hormones with pellets containing specific elements you are missing. If your body is not producing enough of the hormones you need, BHRT provides ones that are identical to those it naturally produces. The molecules in bioidentical hormones are exact copies of the structure of the ones your body produces. Traditionally, hormone replacement has been done with completely synthetic products derived from animal products, but bioidentical hormones are an ethically-friendly, natural alternative. (2)
Hypogonadism
Hypogonadism is a syndrome caused by a lack of androgens in the body. As well as sexual dysfunction, this syndrome can also cause depression, lack of concentration, and fatigue if not treated. When properly monitored, BHRT is a great way to replenish testosterone and alleviate these symptoms.
HRT for Anti-Aging
The skin changes in many ways as we age. We develop wrinkles, fine lines, and sun damage. Facial skin is especially affected depending on lifestyle and environment, and as your production of collagen decreases, so does your skin’s elasticity. Hormone levels also determine the amount of collagen your body produces, and if they go unchecked or unbalanced, a lack of skin vitality can be one of the first signs that something is out of sorts. BHRT can keep aging at bay by creating an uptick in your collagen production with minimally invasive treatments. Studies have also shown that increased testosterone can thicken the skin. (3)

Personal Consultation
To determine if BHRT is right for you, Dr. Asandra will administer a simple blood test to examine your current hormone levels and determine your deficiencies. Dr. Asandra will ask about your medical history, your specific symptoms, and what medications you are currently taking. Taking your lifestyle habits and age into account, he will dictate what dosage will fit your current needs. Patients often receive their first dose of BHRT the same day of their consultation.
Preparation
The first step to prepare for BHRT treatment is to schedule an appointment with Dr. Asandra. Information about your hormone levels gathered during this meeting will be what informs your preparation process. Dr. Asandra may ask you to stop taking certain medications if they interfere with the treatment. We also require you to stop taking any blood-thinning medications for at least a week before your consultation.
BHRT Treatment Process
BHRT treatment is a quick and simple, in-office procedure. Dr. Asandra inserts tiny pellets of hormones catered toward your exact dosage needs into the skin of your upper hip. You are free to go about your day right after the procedure is through. These hormone pellets are slow-release, designed to keep your hormone levels even for long periods of time. The entire process typically takes around an hour from start to finish.
Recovery and Results of BHRT
This procedure is very simple, so there is no associated recovery time. You may feel changes in your mood and energy levels as the hormones become integrated. If you experience any unexpected symptoms, be sure to inform Dr. Asandra right away.
Dr. Asandra reassesses BHRT every three to six months. He and his team of medical professionals will keep a close eye on your progress and health in between sessions to make sure your hormones are where they are supposed to be. Dr. Asandra will keep you and your treatment on track as long as you aren’t experiencing any negative effects.
Complementary Treatments
Peptide Therapy
Peptide therapy utilizes naturally occuring chains of amino acids to help restore bodily function and cell health. For this treatment, Dr. Asandra often administers the peptides through injection, which is quick and worry-free. Peptide therapy can promote cell regeneration and regulation to help improve your mood, immune system, sex drive, and so much more.
Autologous Conditioned Plasma Therapy (ACP)
ACP is a serum that Dr. Asandra derives from your blood. During this treatment, he harvests and utilizes your own bodily materials on a cellular level. . The blood is then processed using a specialized centrifuge machine to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other components of the blood. The resulting PRP is a concentrated solution of platelets, growth factors, and cytokines that play a crucial role in tissue healing and regeneration. This treatment can rejuvenate the body as the ACP communicates with other cells to encourage regeneration, perfect for healing. It can be used for skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and to repair joint or muscle damage.
